The Great Barrier Reef

The reef spans a whopping 2300 kilometers and is home to some of the most amazing sea life you will ever witness. As a result of its popularity, there is an abundance of diving companies which will run the excursion for you. Cairns is probably the most popular place for accessing the Great Barrier Reef. Alternatively, if you want to travel to the center of the Great Barrier Reef, then you’ll be able to experience a more secluded and less touristy area of the phenomenon. Townsville and SS Yongala
If you’re looking more further south for a diving experience, then you’re in luck. If you visit the uniquely names southern city of Townsville, then you will have the opportunity to go diving to a famous wreck. The SS Yongala sank to the depths of the ocean and one of the best ways to explore it is to go diving! Diving to the SS Yongala has been branded one of the worlds best diving experiences as you witness the utter wreckage of a once amazing ship.
The Whitsunday Islands
Going diving in the Whitsunday islands can be tough but only because there are 74 islands to choose from, how would we ever choose? Anyway, this gives you a wealth of choice of which part of the ocean you want to experience. These islands are between the northeast coast of Queensland and the Great Barrier Reef, and there are hundreds of excursions to the Whitsunday islands, from cruises to sailing adventures. It’s a must see area and a fantastic place to go diving.
Southern Queensland is the home of some breathtaking sights, here you can find the fantastic loggerhead turtles and some incredible dolphins swimming around doing their thing. There’s nothing better than seeing these majestic creatures enjoying their natural habitat.
