“Space, the final frontier.” You still hear those words reverberating in William Shatner’s voice whenever you see the words “Star Trek” in front of you. Star Trek is a global phenomenon that started out with the original television series back in 1966. There is no way that creator Gene Roddenberry and the cast and crew of the show could have possibly imagined what Star Trek would become many years later. The Star Trek franchise has generated $10 billion over the years in revenue. It is not only one of the largest grossing media franchises in history but it is also an entire world of its own. The Star Trek fan world includes its very own fully constructed language called Klingon, an amusement park, books, museum exhibits, novels, games, 4 television series, 2 prequel television series, and 13 feature films, an animated series, comics toys and of course –  the Star Trek conventions. Star Trek is an alternate universe where people around the world no matter their age or race can enter. This alternate universe is an open place where many people call home, and fans around the world – called trekkies – are completely obsessed.

The world of Star Trek has not ended, and new episodes of the the most recent television series – called Star Trek: Discovery – are still being released on CBS, in addition to new movies, starring the dashing Chris Pine. This cult phenomenon has been going strong for 51 years and shows no signs of slowing down. Many Star Trek characters were trailblazers on and off screen. Star Trek was one of the first shows to depict African American leads as well as women in pivotal roles. Everyone was equal on Star Trek, women fought alongside their male crew members and even led as captain of the Enterprise like Vice Admiral Kathryn Janeway. There are so many role models and astounding characters in the movies and the television shows that are still relevant today. Whether you turn on an episode from 1966 or even a recently released episode from 2017 there is no doubt that you will get engrossed in the plot and fall in love with the characters. That’s why we just had to know who these impressive and good looking characters of the show were dating in real life. And most importantly, are any of the cast members dating each other?

Roxann Dawson as Lieutenant B’Elanna Torres

Roxanne Dawson played the role of Lieutenant B’Elanna Torres on the television series Star Trek: Voyager. Torres was a hybrid race of both Klingon and human. She was the chief engineer of the Federation’s USS Voyager. Roxanne not only starred in Star Trek but she has directed a total of 12 episodes of Star Trek. Roxanne went on to direct other famous television shows like The Mentalist, Lost, and Cold Case.

Roxann Dawson and Casey Biggs/ Eric Dawson

Roxann Dawson married fellow Star Trek actor Casey Biggs, featured here on the left, before either of them were even cast to be actors on the same show. Casey starred as Cardassian Damar on the television series Star Trek: Deep Space Nine. They divorced in 1987 and Roxanne went on to marry Eric Dawson, her casting director for the television show Nightingales, in 1994. The couple has two daughters together, Emma and Mia. The family lives together in their house in Bell Canyon, California.

Benedict Cumberbatch as Kahn

Benedict Cumberbatch plays the role of Kahn, Captain Kirk’s arch nemesis in the Star Trek feature film Into the Darkness. Benedict played a fantastic villain that the viewers just loved to hate. Khan is a genetically engineered superhuman who is bent on destroying the Klingon Empire. Despite such advantages, Khan is ultimately no match for the experienced Captain Kirk and his resourceful crew. Benedict Cumberbatch is known for starring both television series such as Sherlock Holmes, and movies such as 12 Years a Slave, The Fifth Estate, and the Imitation Game.

Benedict Cumberbatch and Sophie Hunter

Cumberbatch married his friend and partner of 17 years, opera and theater director Sophie Hunter, in 2015. The two met while Sophie was studying at Oxford. In addition to being a talented director, Sophie is multi-lingual and is fluent in English, French, and Italian. The couple got married on the Isle of Wight and now have two sons named Hal and Christopher. Both Benedict and Sophie have continued their careers and have succeeded in balancing show business with family life. We’re excited to see what this power couple will do next.

Chris Hemsworth as George Kirk

Captain James Kirk’s father, who appears in the most recent Star Trek movies, is George Kirk, who was also a Starfleet officer. James credited his father for being the reason and inspiration for his joining the academy. George was able to live long enough to see his son James rise to become a captain of the USS Enterprise. Australian Chris Hemsworth plays the role of George Kirk in the 2009 Star Trek movie. Chris is also known for starring in many other movies such as Thor in the Avengers franchise, A Perfect Getaway, Snow White and the Huntsman, and Rush.

Chris Hemsworth started dating Elsa Pataky in the beginning of 2010, and by December 2010 they were already married. Elsa is a Spanish film producer, actress, and a model who just happens to be fluent in Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Romanian, English, and French. She acted in The Fast and the Furious movies as well as Snakes on a Plane. The two gorgeous superstars currently live in Byron Bay, Australia (Chris’ hometown). They have three children together named India Rose, Tristan, and Sasha.

Jolene Blalock as T’Pol

Jolene Blalock played the role of T’Pol who was a Vulcan science officer in Star Trek: Enterprise. T’Pol was the first Vulcan to serve on a human Federation ship for an extended period of time. Blalock was a massive Trekkie before she got cast so she was probably very excited when she received the role. She also starred in a parody episode of 10 Items or Less called Star Trok. Blalock is also a model who appeared in Maxim and Playboy.

Jolene Blalock and Michael Rapino

Jolene met businessman Michael Rapino when he booked her to star in a beer commercial in Los Angeles. Michael is the CEO of Live Nation, which is a global entertainment company. They were in a long distance relationship while he lived in England and she was in Los Angeles filming Star Trek. Jolene was the one who actually proposed to Michael! They got married in 2003 i n Jamaica and they now have three sons Ryder, River, and Rexton. Try not getting those mixed up.

Leonard Nimoy as Spock

Leonard Nimoy portrayed the first ever version of Spock on the original series of Star Trek. Spock was the first officer of the starship Enterprise and later became the commanding officer. He is half human and half Vulcan as well Captain James Kirk’s right-hand man. Nimoy was nominated for 4 Emmy Awards for his role as Spock. Leonard is most famous for his role as Spock on Star Trek and has said that “If I had to be someone else, I would be Spock.”

Leonard Nimoy (deceased) and Susan Bay

Leonard Nimoy married actress Sandra Zober and they had two children together. They divorced after 32 years of marriage in 1987. Two years later in 1989, Leonard married the actress Susan Bay. Leonard confessed that he acted as Spock twelve to fifteen hours a day for five days a week and he felt more like Spock than himself by the end of filming. Nimoy tragically passed away in 2015 leaving behind 2 children, a loving wife and millions of adoring fans.

William Shatner as Captain Jim Kirk

Canadian actor William Shatner portrayed the original Captain Jim Kirk and he is probably the most famous as well as most decorated captains in Star Trek history. William is a Trekkie himself and has written countless books about his experiences portraying Captain Kirk as well as other Star Trek novels called TekWar that have been adapted into television series. William’s voice is still used in the opening credits of Star Trek saying his most famous line “Space, the final frontier… To boldly go, and do, what no spacecraft has done before.”

Horse trainer Elizabeth Joyce Anderson became Elizabeth Shatner when she married William Shatner in 2001. Both have had previous marriages. William had three previous marriages prior to Elizabeth, to Gloria Rand, Marcy Lafferty, and Nerine Kidd. Elizabeth was the perfect fit for William’s next wife since she could relate his tragedy of losing his previous wife Nerine when she drowned in their pool, as her previous husband also passed away.

Gates McFadden as Beverly Crusher

Gates starred in Star Trek: The New Generation as Beverly Crusher. Beverly was the chief medical officer and doctor of the USS Enterprise-D. Dr. Crusher was loved by all of her adoring fans – as well as her on-screen husband Jack Crusher. Gates McFadden still attends Star Trek conventions and her fans couldn’t be more grateful. Gates also starred in the four subsequent Star Trek Films in addition to the series Star Trek: The Next Generation. Gates also starred in many other movies and television series.

Gates McFadden married contractor John Cleveland Talbot and they had one son together in 1991 named James. Gates was pregnant with James while she was filming Star Trek: The Next Generation. The show cleverly put a lab coat over her to conceal the pregnancy from the viewers. Her co-star from The Next Generation Brent Spiner, who was the android Lieutenant Commander Data, was announced to be James’ godfather. Gates and John are said to lead very private lives.

Patrick Stewart as Captain Jean-Luc Picard

Patrick Stewart portrayed one of the most famous characters of Star Trek: The Next Generation, Captain Jean-Luc Picard of the USS Stargazer, the USS Enterprise-E, and the USS Enterprise-D. Jean-Luc is famously known making contact with at least 27 alien species including the Borg on behalf of the Federation. Patrick Stewart is an incredible actor is also famous for his roles in the X-Men series, American Dad!, Hamlet and so many more. Partick was actually knighted by Queen Elizabeth II in 2010.

Patrick Stewart was married twice before he ended up with Sunny Ozell. His first wife was Sheila Falconer who he was with for 24 years and they had two children together with before they got divorced in 1990. Stewart married one of the producers of Star Trek Wendy Neuss in 200, though the two divorced 3 years later. Finally, Patrick settled down with Sunny Ozell, who is a singer-songwriter from New York. They got married in 2013 and live in their house together in Brooklyn, New York.

Kenneth Mitchell as Kol

Kol is a Klingon from the House of Kor, which was part of the Great Houses of Klingon society as well as on the Klingon High Council. Kol destroyed all of those from the Great Houses who were not on his side and quickly became the antagonists of Star Trek: Discovery, the newest series in the Star Trek franchise. The actor behind Kol, Kenneth Mitchell, spent hours in makeup, and the whole time he would practice the Klingon language to be an even more believable character.

Kenneth Mitchell is 43 years old and was born and raised in Toronto, Canada. Kenneth worked on some amazing movies like the film Miracle in 2004 about the 1980 Mens Olympic Hockey Team. Kenneth also starred in the movies The Recruit, Home of the Giants, and 5-25-77. He also played various roles in television series including on the critically acclaimed show, Switched at Birth. Kenneth married fellow actress Susan May Pratt in May of 2006 and they have two children together.

Bruce Greenwood as Christopher Pike

Pike is the second captain of the USS Enterprise and works for the United Federation of Planets. Pike appears throughout the many series of Star Trek but we feel Bruce played Pike the best, in the 2009 movie Star Trek, with his assuring air and piercing blue eyes. Bruce is an incredible and famous actor who has also starred in Thirteen Days, and Kingsman: The Golden Circle. Bruce also starred in in J. J. Abrams’ Star Trek reboot series as Christopher Pike once more.

Bruce Greenwood and Susan Devlin

Bruce Greenwood is a 61-year-old Canadian actor who is still starring in movies and blockbuster releases today. He has won many awards for his acting over the years including a Gemini Award for Best Guest Performance in a Series by an Actor and a Satellite Award for Best Supporting Actor – Motion Picture. Bruce is currently working on the animated film Batman: Gotham by Gaslight and is starring as Bruce Wayne/Batman in the Canadian animated film Batman: Under the Red Hood. Bruce lives with his wife Susan Devlin in Los Angeles who he has been married to since 1985.

Zoe Saldana as Uhura

 

Uhura is one of the main characters on the Film Star Trek from 2009. Uhura is a communications officer and a translator on the USS Enterprise. In the movie, Uhara and James Kirk are in the Starfleet Academy together but don’t quite see eye to eye. Uhura actually falls for Spock as they began a relationship together. Zoe Saldana starred in the next two Star Trek films as well as Nyota Uhura in Star Trek Beyond as well as Star Trek into Darkness.

Zoe Saldana has starred in the highest grossing movies of all time including Avatar when she portrayed the role of Neytiri. Zoe has also acted in the Star Trek movies as well as Guardians of the Galaxy. She clearly has an affinity for sci-fi. In 2013 Zoe started to date Marco Perego who is an Italian Artist. He actually co-wrote the 2016 Star Trek Beyond film.

Simon Pegg is an actor, producer, comedian, and screenwriter from England. Simon tends to write the screenplay as well as act in the same movies like Three Flavours Cornetto trilogy films as well as Star Trek Beyond and Paul. Simon has also starred in Mission: Impossible III and the other Mission Impossible sequels. Simon married Maureen McCann in 2005 who was his longtime girlfriend and a music industry publicist. Winona Ryder was actually born with the name Winona Laura Horowitz in 1971. She is an iconic actress who has appeared in many famous films. Winona s is currently starring in the critically acclaimed and number on hit television series Stranger Things. Winona’s other movies include Black Swan, The Dilemma, Mr. Deeds, and Zoolander. Winona was previously engaged to the famous actor Johnny Depp but is now with her partner Scott Mackinlay Hahn since 2011.

Nazneen Contractor as Rima Harewood

Rima Harewood is married to Thomas Harewood, the Starfleet Officer. Their child is termanaly ill in a children’s hospital so Thomas made a deal with a stranger that would sacrifice his own life to save his child. Rima became a widower but her child survived in the movie Star Trek: Into Darkness in 2013. Nanzeen Contractor played the role of Rima Harewood in the movie as well as in many other television shows and films.

Nazneen Contractor is a gorgeous 35 year old Indian actress from Mumbai. She is most famous for portraying Layla Hourani on CBC’s The Border. Nanzeen is also well known for acting on the famous television series 24 as Kayla Hassan. Some of Nansen’s credits include Covert Affairs, Stalker, Castle, Bones, Rules of Engagement, and Ransom. Nanzeen met her boyfriend on the set of 24, Carlo Rota who was also an actor on the show. They got married in 2010 and have one son together.

LeVar Burton as Lt. Cmdr. Geordi La Forge

Geordi La Forge served on the Starfleet as an officer. He started out on USS Enterprise-D as a lieutenant junior grade and worked his way up to become the lieutenant commander as well as the chief engineer. Geordi is a human that wears a visor in order to see, although the visor does not enable him to see as well as other humans can. Geordi was one of main characters on Star Trek: The Next Generation and starred in all 176 episodes of the series.

LeVar Burton and Stephanie Cozart Burton

LeVar Burton is an actor, author, director, and presenter. He is most famous for starring in the children’s show Reading Rainbow, on Star Trek: The Next Generation, and on ABC television miniseries Roots back in 1977. LeVar has also directed a number of Star Trek episodes as well as JAG, and other famous TV shows. LeVar is a Grammy Award winner, a Daytime Emmy award winner, and many more. He is married to Stephanie Cozart-Burton who is a makeup artist in California and they have two children together.

Whoopi Goldberg as Guinan

Yes, the famous Whoopi Goldberg actually starred in Star Trek: The Next Generation in 29 episodes of the series. Whoopi portrayed the role of Guinan on the show who was the bartender on the USS Enterprise-D. Guinan, from the El-Aurian race who were known to be good listeners made for a good bartender who gave sage advice and counsel to her crewmates. Now, over 20 years since the show concluded Whoopi Goldberg is a household name.

This talented woman has starred in many critically acclaimed films including: The Color Purple; Ghost; For Colored Girls; Girl, Interrupted; The Lion King(!); and many more. Whoppi has been married to three men; Alvin Martin, David Claessen, and Lyle Trachtenberg and subsequently has divorced all three.

Stephen Hawking as Stephen Hawking

Stephen Hawking had a cameo for one episode on Star Trek: The Next Generation. He was a scientist and held the role of Lucasian Chair once he retired from Starfleet. In the show, Lieutenant Commander Data created a hologram of Stephen Hawking, Albert Einstein, and Sir Issac Newton to see how they would interact. They were put in a setting of a poker game and it made for one of the most famous episodes of Star Trek to date.

Stephen Hawking is the director of research at the University of Cambridge for the center of Theoretical Cosmology. Hawking has won many awards for his theories on cosmology and his groundbreaking research. Stephen suffers from ALS disease and can only speak through a speech-generating device yet he has not let this deter him from his research. Stephen was first married to a fellow Cambridge student Jane Wilde and met her before he was diagnosed. They divorced in 1995. He then married Elaine Mason in 1995 but the two split up in 2006. Stephen has three children.

James Frain as Sarek

Serek was a Vulcan who worked as an ambassador in the Federation Council on earth. That is where he met the human teacher Amanda Grayson and married her. Together they had one son, Spock. Sarek only stared in a few episodes of the newest version of Star Trek called Star Trek: Discovery. However, the show is only one year old, so his character will have time to develop. James Frain portrayed Sarek however in other Star Trek Series, Sarek was played by Mark Lenard and Jonathan Simpson.

James Frain and Marta Cunningham

James Frain is a 49 year old actor from England. He has starred on many hit television shows and movies including Orphan Black, l The White Queen, The Tudors, Armadillo, Hilary and Jackie, and Elizabeth. Most recently James has been working on the set of the television series Gotham. In 2004, James married Marta Cunningham who is a director in Hollywood and the two have two children together. When James is not acting and doing his fatherly duties, he likes to paint and is an amateur artist.

Karl Urban as Bones

Karl Urban portrays the role of Dr. Leonard “Bones” McCoy in both of the Star Trek films. Bones was the chief medical officer of the USS Enterprise. Bones served Captain James Kirk who also was his classmate at the Starfleet Academy. The actor behind Bones, Karl, did a fantastic job and acted as the comic relief in the intense scenes of the movie. Karl also starred in The Lord of the Rings trilogy as well as in Xena: Warrior Princess.

Karl Urban and Katee Sackhoff

Karl Urban was previously married to his makeup artist from the movie The Privateers. They were together until their split in 2014 and they have two sons together. Later that year Karl met Katee Sackhoff and they have been inseparable ever since. Katee is an actress herself and also starred in Science Fiction roles such as Battlestar Galactica and won four Saturn Awards including Best Supporting Actress. Katee also acted in the series 24, and the movie Star Wars: The Clone Wars.

Wil Wheaton as Wesley Crusher

Wil Wheaton starred as Wesley Crusher in Star Wars: The Next Generation. Wesley is the child of Doctor Beverly and Lieutenant Commander Jack Crusher. Wesley is a particularly gifted boy who followed in his parents’ footsteps by attending the Starfleet Academy and ultimately becoming a lieutenant junior of the Starfleet. Wil Wheaton has grown up since acting in Star Trek and has joined the casts of The Big Bang Theory, Leverage, and Eureka. In 2003 Wil founded his own independent publishing company called Monolith Press.

Wil Wheaton and Anne Prince

Wil married Anne Prince in 1999 and they live together in Arcadia, California with Anne’s two children from her prior relationship. One of her sons asked Wil to legally adopt him when he was 19 years old, this family couldn’t be any cuter. Anne and Wil worked on the movie Neverland together, Anne was the hair stylist for the cast, including her husband Wil who portrayed John Darling in the film. Anne is also a makeup artist for celebrities.

Jonathan Frakes as Commander William T. Riker

Jonathan Frakes played the role of Commander William T. Riker on Star Trek: The Next Generation as well as in subsequent films. William serves as the first officer to Captain Jean-Luc Picard on the USS Enterprise-D as well as the Enterprise-E. William finally became captain when he served on the USS Titan. In an infamous transporting incident Will became cloned and the two Williamss were completely indistinguishable, so one of them changed his name to Thomas Riker to avoid confusion.

Jonathan Frakes met his wife Genie Francis on the set of Bare Essence. The spark ignited when they met again on the set of the mini-series called North and South. The two subsequently began dating in 1985 and got engaged one year later. In 1988 Jonathan and Genie got married and they have two children together. Genie is a famous actress as well who is most well known for her role on the soap opera General Hospital.

Ashley Judd starred as Robin Lefler, the Mission Specialist on the USS Enterprise-D. Robin was assigned to the Cheif Engineer Geordi La Forge to help him prepare the ship for battle against the Tamarian deep space cruiser. Ashley Judd, who played Robin, is a famous actress and political activist. She has starred in many hit movies namely Divergent, Double Jeopardy, Norma Jean & Marilyn and many more. In addition to being an avid women’s rights advocate, Judd is also famously known for being a Kentucky Wildcats men’s basketball fan and you can find her at every game.

Ashley Judd and Dario Franchitti

In 1999 Ashley Judd got engaged to the Scottish race car driver Dario Franchitti while he was competing in the Champ Car World Series. Dario now races in IndyCar and NASCAR. In 2001 these lovebirds got hitched at the Skibo Castle in Scotland. They had no children together and they split up in 2013. Meanwhile, Ashley Judd is still making blockbuster releases such as Olympus Has Fallen but has not remarried since, focusing instead on her career and advocacy.

Eric Bana as Nero

Eric Bana portrayed the role of Nero in the 2009 Star Trek feature film. Nero was the villain of the movie, he was a Romulan captain who sought vengeance for the destruction of Romulus, so he went back in time to stop it from happening. When Nero travels back to the past, his actions create an alternate reality and he tries to destroy everything in his path. Eric Bana is an Australian actor and comedian who has starred in many hit movies such as Hulk, The Time Traveler’s Wife, and Troy.

Eric was acting in the television series Full Frontal when he met Rebecca Gleeson who was a publicist of the network. Eric took Rebecca on a trip to America two years later and popped the question. They got married in 1997 and they now live together with their two children in Melbourne, their son named Klaus and their daughter named Sophia. The couple does an unbelievable amount of charitable work including helping the homeless with the organization Youth off the Streets.

Marina Sirtis as Commander Deanna Troi

Commander Deanna Troi was portrayed by the wonderful Marina Sirtis. Commander Deanna was the main character of Star Trek: The Next Generation and she is a half Betazoid and half human with a unique ability to sense other peoples’ emotions. She served on the USS Enterprise-D and for most of the series, she is only a lieutenant commander and only in the seventh season she gets upgraded to be a commander. She is married to William Riker who is the Enterprise’s first officer.

Jeri Ryan and Christophe Émé

Marina Sirtis married Michael Lamper in 1992. He is a rock guitarist and vocalist who has toured with amazing bands such as the Allman Brothers, Los Lobos and Tommy Shaw of Styx, and Quiet iot. He was also the lead singer for the band Steely Jam. Michael is currently playing with the band Desperado which is an Eagles tribute band. Michael was also an actor on Star Trek: The Next Generation for one episode back in 1989, portraying an American gatherer.

Jeri Ryan as Seven of Nine

Jeri Ryan portrays one of the most famous and complex characters on Star Trek: Voyager, Seven of Nine. Seven of Nine was a Borg drone who was freed from the Borg’s collective consciousness. When Jeri Ryan joined the cast in the fourth season of Star Trek, its ratings increased by 60%. You can’t deny that Jeri Ryan has a presence. Jeri has also starred in other shows like Boston Public, Bosch, Body of Proof, and Shark.

Jeri was first married to Jack Ryan, a Republican political candidate and investment banker, in 1991, but the two later got divorced. Later in 2003, Jeri met chef Christophe Émé at a charity chef’s event. Christophe subsequently moved into Jeri’s home in San Fernando Valley with her son Alex. The two opened a restaurant together in 2005 in Los Angeles however it closed down 5 years later. In 2007, Émé and Jeri got married in France and only one year later Jeri gave birth to their daughter, Gisele Émé.

Chris Pine as Captain James Kirk

Chris Pine played the lead role of Captain James Kirk in both of the recent Star Trek feature films, after William Shatner originated the role in the original TV series. Chris performed the role excellently and concentrated on Kirk’s boyish arrogance, charming audiences in the process. The movies encapsulate Captain James Kirk before he became captain and show how he matured to become one of the greatest and most memorable captains in Star Trek history. Chris Pine is rumored to be dating his co-star Sofia Boutella from the recent film Star Trek: Beyond. Sofia plays the role of Jaylah, an tough alien refugee who helped the Enterprise crew fight of the Krall. Chris has been seen together with Sofia at the Coachella Music Festival holding hands. She even attended the London movie premiere Chris’ new movie. The two met on the set of Star Trek and seem to have become a couple ever since!
