The antics of Zack Morris and the gang quickly became the number one way to start your weekend. Up until Saved by the Bell, the Saturday morning airwaves were typically reserved for a much younger audience and taken over by cartoons.
The comedy-drama series (which was originally named Good Morning Miss Bliss) made way for popular teen shows that followed such as Beverly Hills, 90210 and Dawson’s Creek by being one of the first shows directed to teens and young adults that dealt with subjects of a more mature nature such as illegal substance abuse, anxiety, and peer pressure.
Although the series had its darker moments, it remained an uplifting, cheery, and comedic show, with its fair share of cheesy moments. And of course, we can’t ignore the iconic fashion choices that were made during the duration of the series. The cast’s wardrobe was filled with loads of neon-colored and wild-patterned garments and and of course – lots of muscle tanks, scrunchies, and high-waisted pants.
Although it has been 25 years since we said goodbye to the gang at Bayside, Saved by the Bell still brings a great deal of happiness, and not to mention nostalgia, to many of its fans. In fact, there is just something about the ’90s that seems to still leave us fascinated. So what is it about the ’90s that has everyone so nostalgic? Well, for one thing, it definitely was a much more simpler time: for example, technology was not nearly as advanced as it is today, meaning we didn’t have everything we needed on a phone or tablet, and we actually had to put on the radio or MTV and wait for our favorite song to come on.
So what has the cast of Saved by the Bell been up to all these years since we last saw them gracing their TV high school’s hallways? For this list, in particular, we will focus on the lovely, and beautiful, ’90s queens of the series… so let’s see what they are doing today!
