S&D Polish Deli, Pittsburgh

This grocery store-cum-diner-cum-deli is one of our favorite spots in Pittsburgh. Leftover from the Polish influence of the 1800’s, this is one of the best places in the city to find delicious and tasty food, inspired by Europe. Local cheese, sauerkraut, and succulent pierogies are just a few of the culinary delights that await you here. This is the perfect place to head to the morning after if you’re feeling a little the worse for wear. Polish cuisine is always great, and S&D’s has the perfect combination of friendly service, great food, and more bang for your buck.

Dime Store, Detroit

The Midwest is often acclaimed for its delicious food, and Detroit remains a personal favorite in this sense. This quirky and unique restaurant is one of the finest diners in the country and the perfect place to come if you want some food that’s a little more original than your basic diner fare. Dishes like the Korean-style duck bop hash are a delight, and really need to be sampled as soon as possible. It’s a small and inviting establishment, with a fun menu, and a really nice atmosphere – ideal for those visiting Detroit.

O’Rourke’s Diner, Middletown

This place is the perfect establishment for students attending Wesleyan University in Middletown. The diner is perfectly kitted out, with a menu that accommodates even the most hungover of students! First opened in 1941, O’Rourke’s became something of an institution in Middletown, before it was destroyed by a fire in 2006. After renovating and reopening, the place has attracted even more popularity. Their Irish-infused dishes are hearty, tasty, and will leave you wanting to come back for more.

Tom’s Restaurant, New York City

Tom’s is one of the best restaurants in NYC, period! One of our favorite diners, this is one of the most popular establishments among locals in The Big Apple, and for good reason. The food they offer here is simply sensational, and, dishes like the turkey omelet and the Silver Dollar pancakes are simply sublime. The staff are incredibly friendly, and the ambiance is fantastic – be sure to get here early, so you’re not disappointed.

Tops Diner, East Newark

New Jersey is often viewed as being the diner capital of the United States, and, in many ways, you are spoilt for choice here. But, Tops is one of the diners that stands out from the others in the crowd. This legendary diner has been satisfying hungry customers since 1972 and is popular all across the state.
